Target Echo |

Target Echo is a technique where the motion graphics artist uses the direction of a linear element, such as a line or an arrow, to lead the viewer's eye to specific locations in the animation. The artist then rewards the viewer with an event (the Echo) that potentially leads their eye elsewhere. In this way, the animator is directing the viewer on a complex eye-journey - one where they are in full control of where the viewer is looking at a particular moment. Use this technique to engage the audience and to assure that the viewer is looking where the central logo or message will appear so it is seen and read in the process. Techniques seen in the example above include a line with a Trim Path animation of the Start and End values. The Echoes are created by creating a stroked circle Shape Layer and animating the Elipse Path size. |
