TRANSFORMERS

Motion Graphics Final Project

A fundamental aspect of Motion Graphics is the constant evolution of elements as they reinvent themselves. For the Final Project, we are going to design and develop a motion graphic that moves seamlessly between abstract geometric shapes, representational details, and text elements. And back again. Injected into this mix will be all of the processes and principles we have been introduced to throughout the semester. Trim Paths? Indespensible. Track Mattes? Good idea. 3D elements? If you are able. 10 Principles of Animation? You have to ask? And be sure to sweeten the experience with music and or SFX.

Perhaps the main graphic is literally some sort of Transformer - the mech characters who reinvent themselves from humanoid to building to vehicle. Perhaps there's nothing mech about your graphic - it just behaves like a Transformer - a Swiss army knife of an element that eventually unfolds into the logo or graphic you are showcasing. Perhaps it is something introduced as MOR that suddenly reveals it is anything but. The length of the project will be a bit more long-form and should fall somewhere between 45 seconds and 1 minute. This leaves plenty of time to tell a more nuanced story as your motion graphic evolves. Work in 1080p.

Due on 4/29 - Final Project Progress:
